Located in South Asia, Bangladesh develops as the main economic activity agriculture, thanks to the fertile land of the Ganges delta. On the other hand, it is also subject to annual flooding caused by monsoons and cyclones. These drawbacks hinder its economy, and as a result, its development, making it unattractive for investors countries.
Talk about country with the Hon. Mr. Luis Tejada Chacon, Spain’s ambassador to Bangladesh since 2011. a degree in law and, since he became the Diplomatic Corps, has been assigned to the Spanish diplomatic missions in Gabon and Syria.
Despite some partial successes in certain areas, Bangladesh remains one of the world’s poorest countries. One of the main problems is its huge trade deficit, with the value of the country’s imports doubling that of its exports.
In this session, Ambassador Tejada will explain current Spanish-Bangladeshi trade relations, offering participants the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the current economic situation in Bangladesh, its diplomatic and economic relations with Spain and how they are pursued.
