The University of Barcelona is the owner of the Pedro Pons Estate, a donation from Dr. Agustí Pedro Pons. Can Mestres farmhouse is recognized by many walkers for its sgraffito decorations, which were probably added to the house built in the 18th century, replacing another farmhouse from the 16th century.

The sgraffito decorations cover the north and south facades, and one of them features a sundial with the date 1776. On the top roof, the weather vane indicating the winds incorporates a “Tom Thumb” It was built in iron, with sturdy gears that have been working for over 50 years and move quickly on windy days.
