Testimonials

The CEI-UB Sustainable Development Master's has provided me with the foundational knowledge I was lacking in terms of legal, social, and economic aspects to develop professionally in this field. Its content is comprehensive, detailed, and understandable for those of us coming from different academic backgrounds, making it perfectly tailored to our needs. Additionally, they seek synergy among students to enrich the knowledge shared. The attention received regarding the Final Master's Project (TFM) is very personalized and accessible, which helps you feel supported and opens up future job possibilities. I will undoubtedly miss the classes, the moments of discussion, and mutual learning, but I am finishing the program with no doubt that it met my expectations. A new chapter is beginning, and I am eager to put the acquired knowledge into practice.

Master's degree in Sustainable Development

The Master's in Sustainable Development has far exceeded my expectations, as it has masterfully addressed the relevant aspects of the three fundamental pillars that make it up: Economic, Social, and Environmental Development. It has also seamlessly integrated current international law theory with various fields and regimes related to the environment. This includes training in Circular Economy, among other relevant and current areas. Moreover, it doesn't neglect the practical aspect of how the private sector can design policies and strategies based on the basic principles of Sustainable Development to achieve the goals of the UN's 2030 Agenda. All of this has allowed me to consolidate the knowledge necessary to develop my Final Master's Project in project mode within the company I work for, adding value to actions aimed at achieving sustainability-related strategic objectives.

I want to thank CEI for offering this program, known for its quality and rigor, with a faculty possessing extensive knowledge in the field, as well as distinguished guest speakers from both the private and public sectors, who are experts in the practice of Sustainable Development.

Andrés F. Ballesteros

Master's degree in Sustainable Development

I am from Syria, where most people are simply struggling to survive and cannot afford to think about living sustainably. When I started studying sustainability concepts, I was frustrated by the different conditions faced by developed and developing countries and the inequity of resources between them. I couldn't see how the practical solutions I was learning could work in the harsh conditions that people in my country face every day. However, as I began to understand more about how we can save our planet, I became more optimistic about what is possible for all countries, including Syria. Once I fully grasped the need to change the way we live and use the planet's resources, I began to change my own lifestyle. I am now aware of every decision I make when I want to buy something. I am also more sensitive to the issues that many people around the world face, such as access to clean water, education, decent work, and healthcare. Thanks to this program, I am committed to finding a career in which I can actively contribute to achieving the 17 sustainability goals. When I started the Master's, I didn't fully understand the importance of sustainable development. Now I am a passionate advocate for it.

The Master's in Sustainable Development has been a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into what sustainability entails. It has provided us with the necessary knowledge to understand the seriousness of the current climate crisis and has equipped us with the appropriate tools to address it with a systemic and multidisciplinary perspective. The internships are a great complement to conclude this training, allowing us to apply and visualize the opportunities that the job market will offer us once the Master's is completed.

The Master's in Sustainable Development has allowed me to become familiar with all the crucial aspects and elements of the climate crisis and the role that sustainability must play in the international community in the years to come. On the other hand, my internships at Viscofan have helped me see firsthand how the private sector can contribute to sustainable development goals through energy transition, good governance, and corporate social responsibility.
