Entry requirements

The master's degree has 40 places available for the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • Students with a bachelor’s degree, degree, engineering or architecture.
  • Profiles with an international vocation and basic knowledge of international issues.
  • High level of English and Spanish (spoken and written).

The specific entry profile for the master’s degree is that of those with degrees in Law, Economics and Business, International Relations, Political Science and Administration.

For students coming from other degrees, the master’s degree offers compulsory bridging courses to be taken during the weeks prior to the start of the course.

IMPORTANT: Candidates who have not yet completed their university degree may register and sit the admission tests, but will not be able to study the Master’s degree if they have not fully completed their university degree by the time of enrolment, scheduled for September 2024.

In September 2024, those admitted must present their final degree transcript and the original degree certificate or, failing that, a certified photocopy or a photocopy with a verification or QR code of the receipt for payment of the degree issuing fees.

Pre-registration and enrolment

From November 1, 2023 to June 15, 2024.

Pre-registration and pre-enrolment will be carried out through the CEI’s virtual secretariat platform, accessible through the PRE-ENROLMENT button below.

The following documentation must be uploaded to the virtual secretariat:

  • Identity document (DNI for Spanish nationals/NIE/Passport).
  • Certified photocopy of the degree that accredits the university qualification required for access or certified photocopy of the corresponding replacement certificate or with a secure verification code or QR.
  • Certified photocopy of the academic transcript or with a secure verification code or QR.
  • Passport-size photograph.
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Letter of motivation.
  • Two letters of recommendation (academic or employment, in English or Spanish).
  • Payment of 130 euros through the virtual office of the registrar*.

*This amount is not refundable, neither in the case of withdrawing the application, nor in the case of not being admitted to the Master.

IMPORTANT: Students who have studied at a foreign university must legalise the supporting documents. For more information, please consult the following link: Universitat de Barcelona (ub.edu).

Once the pre-registration has been completed, the candidate will be called for the admission test. You will have to choose one of these 3 dates to take the test:

  • 29 February 2024.
  • 9 May 2024.
  • 25 June 2024.

The admission test will be online for all applicants. It is recommended to reserve the whole day for the admission process.

The test shall consist of the following parts:

  1. Completion of an individual essay on the subjects on which the master’s degree focuses (International Law and International Relations). 1h.
  2. Interview in English with the honorary coordinator of the Master, Mr. Fernando Perpiñá-Robert, Ambassador of Spain. 15′
  3. Interview in Spanish with the Master’s Coordination. 15′

All those who have taken the admission test will receive the result within a maximum period of one week via the e-mail address provided at the CEI secretariat, as well as the instructions on how to make the payments.

During the month of September, admitted students will receive an email with instructions on how to register via the email address provided in the virtual secretary’s office of the CEI.

The inaugural session will take place on 20 September 2024 at 09:30. Students will receive an email to the account provided in the virtual secretariat of the CEI with the details of the inaugural session.
