In addition to the CEI’s own teaching staff, classes are also taught by other university lecturers of recognised prestige in their speciality, as well as professionals, diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, active international civil servants, former civil servants, politicians, businessmen and other prominent professionals from the international sphere.

Spanish Ambassador. Career diplomat since 1965. Worked as Consul General of Spain in Boston between 1978 and 1982. In 1972 he directed the Spanish Institute of Culture in Munich (Germany). He was Technical Secretary General of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation between 1983 and 1985, where he held the post of Undersecretary (1988-1991). He has been Spanish Ambassador to Germany (1991-1996) and to Hungary (1996-2001). He served as Ambassador-at-Large for terrorism-related matters from 2001 to 2003. Has been Consul General of Spain in Paris since 2003.

He holds degrees from the Humboldt University of Berlin, the European University Institute and was a visiting scholar at Yale Law School. He has held positions as lecturer, programme director, researcher and course coordinator in the areas of international law, human rights and international relations at various higher education and research institutions in Berlin, Florence, Venice and Barcelona. His main research interests include interdisciplinary and critical approaches to international law, human rights and international relations theory.

He is a member of the Honorary Committee of the Royal Institute of European Studies.
